I never write reviews, but I had to share so no one else goes through what i did. I just got back from a 2 week trip in PERU that I booked with PERU FOR LESS - their name says it all. You get much LESS with this company. In our 2 wktrip we had the following bad experiences bc of PFL: - Taxi to the airport on our 2nd day never showed, we had to get our own taxi and pay for it. (PFL never offered to reimburse us) -Hotel in Lima was TERRIBLE! For what we paid, and were told we'd get 3 stars, "CASA BELLA" was far from 3 stars and was iin the middle of nowhere. -Lares Trek – we paid $399 each for this 3 day/2 night trek, which I knew was a lot, so we expected a good trip. Instead we got a “contract” tour guide who came to pick us up in a small sedan car – this was for us (my husband and I) + 3 guys. So essentially they expected me to sit in the middle of the back seat next to “the cook” for 5 hours! (and our cook had bad, really bad, B.O.) We called PFL for help since this was looking like a terrible trip – if the car was like this, what about the rest of it?! – and they said they could do nothing and were completely unhelpful. Basically they said we could not get our money back and we should just do the trip. At least our guided tried to help us and he agreed to hire a van for the transport. I feel we got the “$200” version of this trek, but we paid so much more. Very disappointing. -Hotel in Aguas Caliente was ok, “Presidente”, but our room (#201) was TERRIBLE – extra small, smelly bathroom, and window onto the busy street. They have nice rooms in the back,– I’d expect my travel agent would have made sure I got a good room – what else am I paying them for? - Tour Guide for Machu Picchu was 30 minutes late so we did not get our promised tour. - taxi from airport to hotel in Lima on the way back was not there! Unbelievably after all the trouble they STILL were messing stuff up on our 2nd to last day!
Cons: unreliable, not responsive if you have trouble, not even that cheap considering! Worst Customer service ever!
