I am a very picky eater, but Italian is my favorite. I thought the bread was awsome and the pizza was tasty. Vegetable lasagna also really good and unique. My friend had the chicken special and enjoyed it so much he's taking a bunch of business associates later in the month. I found it very quaint and warm. You should try it at lunch. It's not too busy so you feel your taken care of.

This was my first experiance at Sagra and I was very impressed. I was there on a Friday night and it was a full house. Their was five of us in our group and had reservations, greeted and were promptly seated. Our waitress Alex was very attentive and helpful with what to choose off the menu, she really was on top of things. Everything on the menu sounded great, and we all decided to try as much as we could. We ordered a few different appetizers. Everything was very great. The calamari were tasty, the mussels were fresh, and the caprese, and charcuterie were both very good. Although we didn't order any wine, the choices seemed to be endless. For the main dish, we mixed it up as well. The Chicken Parm was perfect, the Brick Pressed Chicken was very moist, and the potatoes with that dish were awesome and the Wild Boar Osso Bucco was extremely delicious. There was no room for anything else but since everything was so good ,dessert seemed like a must. I'm glad we did the Torta was great. This little restaurant has a lot going for itself. The food great, the service was friendly. All in all a wonderful experiance.
Pros: Two thumbs up, awesome food, great value.
Cons: Not enough room to type in the 'pros' box

I have been to sagra a couple times over the last couple of months and they have the best pizza in austin. The place is really beautiful and I have been there for happy hour and had a pizza and five beers for $10. Yeah $10. What a deal.
Pros: Great food and prices
Cons: parking

I'm so sorry to write this review because I was looking forward to finding a new gem. The evening started out with a drink in the little cozy bar section. Unfortunately, the 2 bartenders were miserable from the start. My boyfriend and I felt like we had ruined their evening by sitting at the bar. He shook a pathetic martini (granted, I'm sure the wine would have been a more apopos choice) and we sat in total discomfort because of their attitudes. We thankfully were transferred to our table in the outdoor patio and our waitress was lovely. We felt like the evening took a turn for the better until the food started coming out. The salads were a sorry sight; barely any toppings and hardly any dressing. Next came my boyfriend's veal osso bucco which was highly praised in a local magazine. It was so bland and lacking character. My pizza was just so-so. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed. I realize that a lot of work went into the rennovations and the restaurant looks lovely; however, when there is no love or passion in the kitchen, it really shows.
Pros: Parking, friendly waitstaff (not bartenders), ambience
Cons: Food

My friend from out of town and I went for a relaxing tuesday dinner. We both liked the location and setting. The wine list was marginal for an italian restaurant. The appetizer list was ok. We ordered the mozarella caprese, and thought it was average. The mozarella was a little dry and the basil seemed liked it had been chopped and stored in a fridge until someone ordered it. After that, the main course, I had the wild boar shanks with a risoto. The wild boar tasted like bland pot-roast and the risoto was pretty unimpressive as well. He had some sort of mushroom manicoti that looked more like enchiladas and was pretty small. The cheescake desert was extremely dry and almost stale tasting. I would think twice about trying this place again. I was hoping it would be a decent enough place for a first date, but the food might just ruin the atmosphere.

This is a great place to go for dinner or drinks on the patio! We went there on a chilly night but the heaters made it quite comfortable. Try it out!

I ate at Sagra just once, and I love the location, they did a good job in remodeling what Lory had with Mars before. I'm italian, born and race in Italy and I was extited to try their pizza, but I have to say that, even if the portion is just fine and they clame they use fresh ingredients, you can't say their pizza is an original italian pizza at all. The real pizza was born in Napoli and if you have ever been there you will know the difference.

I have been to Sagra twice over the past few weeks and it was great both times. The restaurant looks like an Italian farmhouse and makes for a great atmosphere for drinks or dinner. The pizzas are made in a real wood burning oven. Before this place opened, I was afraid Austin would never have any good pizza. It is so refreshing that the pizzas aren't drowned with cheese or toppings and have a nice thin crispy crust. I am glad they are not trying to make their menu Texas friendly (like so many restaurants do) by adding southwestern ingredients to Italian cuisine. All of the food is authentic, simple, and executed flawlessly. The wine list is great and very reasonably priced. The waitstaff was very sweet and attentive both times we were there. I think for the price, the quality of the food and service is great. I would recommend Sagra to everybody and cannot wait to go again.

I heard about this restaurant through the grapevine and I was really excited to try it out. It had all the right ingredients to be a spectacular restaurant..unfortunately it was everything but. The place it self is beautiful and very romantic although there are way to many tables and it's quite difficult for the servers to maneuver around the seats just to get to your table. We ate there on a tues night and even though it was pretty busy, the service was slow uncoordinated and frustrating. Their menu is really confusing and not very appeasing. We started with the Calamari which was way OVER cooked, salty and it really had no flavor at all. I proceeded to try the Tricolore salad again wayyy to bitter, nothing good about it at all. And for my entree I ordered what I figured would be the safest thing on the menu, the Marguerite Pizza and I was shocked- that to was not very good.. it had very little cheese on it and it was drenched in pesto sauce!! I really hope that they can work through their problems because it's a beautiful restaurant with soo much potential that I would just hate to see it go to waste..what a disappointment..
Pros: cute place
Cons: terrible food

I love trying new restaurants, but this one was a disappointment. When I go to a nice place, I expect to pay a certain price for the meal and the wine, and with that price tag I expect a certain level of service, which I did not receive at Sagra. I do not expect to be offered dessert while someone at the table is still finishing their main course, and I do not expect to be asked if I want the check immediately after received my coffee. As for the food, it wasn't spectacular. The only good dish at our table was the Braised Short Ribs Canneloni, which had great flavor but wasn't cooked quite properly. So overall I was not impressed, and I probably wouldn't recommend this restaurant to any of my friends. I hope that they can get it together and become the great restaurant that they have all the potential to be, but until then, I won't be visiting any time soon.
