I love this!

It sounds weird but it is SO MUCH FUN! I did this with two girlfriends recently and not only had a great time but also found some beautiful, unique pieces to give for Christmas gifts (and a few for myself ;-). We did the shopping event on a Wed. night. I got online the next day to place my order (I love the no pressure aspect of this). Then the order arrived via FedEx early the next week. All the items were wrapped in cute paper with "ShangBy Certified" stickers. Then inside that, everything is in beautiful boxes and silk bags. It was like Christmas morning opening my ShangBy order! :-) All great quality items and so inexpensive! I would highly recommend this and tell anyone nervous about the live video shopping aspect of it to just grab a friend and give it a try. BTW, you can see them but they can't see you!

I couldn't be happier with my Shangby experience. The shopping was fun, felt like I had a smart, knowledgable personal shopper with me the entire time, who had good taste. I absolutely love the items I purchased and will definitely return for more.

Great Holiday Gifts! Fun & Easy way to shop!

Sometimes different is BETTER! Truthfully, I HATE shopping. Parking, people, high prices...blah! SHANGBY is BETTER. It was so much fun to shop LIVE on line, very exciting and the personal shopper, NIna, is great! She makes it so easy! I wasn't sure what I was going to buy, but thought I'd look for Christmas Gifts for my mom and sister. My sister had just recieved dark pearl bracelet and earrings as a gift, so I decided to look for a necklace for her to match. My mom LOVES jewelry so I decided to see if I could find anything I could afford for her for the December birthday and Christmas gifts. Boy did I ever! I never knew pearls came in so many different colors, but since my mom loves purple, I custom designed (Yes you can do that!) a floating lavender pearl necklace for her and then got matching earrings and a matching braclet all for under $30 TOTAL! These are REAL freshwater pearls. I also found a GORGEOUS necklace for my sister. SNAP! Christmas shopping for those 2-DONE! and I had time left over to look at something for me. I chose to create a coin pearl necklace for myself. It was easy-just a computer and a phone--no problem! (It's a toll free call) I did my shopping event on a Tuesday and they promise 7 days or less for shipping...I was SHOCKED when all my stuff arrived on FRIDAY! In LESS than THREE days! Everything was beautiful and came very nicely wrapped. The only thing I didn't end up liking was the necklace I designed for myself, but they have a great (FREE shipping ) return policy, no questions asked. I had nothing to lose! If you haven't done your Christmas shopping, check it out!! You will love it. Next time I want to try with a group of friends...maybe my girlfriend in Tulsa. With the internet, we can shop together in SHANGHAI with no plane tickets!

Cool concept

A friend of mine asked me to do a ShangBy shopping "event" with her and at first I was skeptical because 1) I thought 45 minutes was a long time and 2) I thought I could probably get good prices on the same stuff at the mall. Wrong on both counts! The 45 minute shopping trip was so much fun and went by way too fast - I had a blast with my friend, but also the other shoppers that chimed into the chat room while we were shopping. And the prices were surprisingly great - my friend did some haggling, but with the first necklace I liked I thought the price was so great I just said YES, sign me up! Well worth the time - was fun and I got some really pretty stuff at a great price.

Best Value on Pearls & Semi-Precious Fashion Jewelry - and an exciting experience to boot!

So, I was a bit skeptical about what this "video shopping" concept was, and why I would do it. But after being talked into it by a friend, checked it out. I had 3 friends over, a bottle of wine, some cheese and some chocolate. We huddled around my computer and talked to Nina on my cell's speaker phone. We had a blast! We giggled, we ohh'ed and ahh'ed over the jewelry, and we had fun interacting with the Shanghai retailer Annetta. When it was over, we laughed some more because we got to tell our friends and family that we were shopping in Shanghai - literally!

• Cons: By appointment only isn't that convenient

Fun girls' shopping experience

I did this recently with some friends and we had a great time! The shopping events are a lot of fun and the jewelry is a pretty good value. For a fun night with the girls, I'd recommend you give it a shot!
