Way over priced!
by wabalex at Citysearch
Facilities are beautiful....the spa, pool and lake area are very nice. However, the pricing for the massages, facials and food are too much for what you get. Food is way below average...nothing special. The massage and facial are no better than what you get at a smaller more afforable spa.
Beautiful Destination Spa
by mayoatx82 at Citysearch
I went to Lake Austin Spa Resort for a girlfriend's pre-wedding bachelorette party. We were looking for a place to relax and unwind before the big day and Lake Austin Spa was the perfect spot. The facility and grounds are beautiful and the pool is a great place to lounge. We all got different treatments and then relaxed by the pool and sunbathes. My massage was awesome and we even had lunch in their sunroom out by the pool which was delicious and healthy. It was a perfect day! I can't wait to go back!
- Pros: Pool, Facility, Atmosphere
Not going back! Horrible experience!
by gourmethunters at Citysearch
After seeing this spa at several magazines I expected at least a decent massage. I had a really bad experience and I am not going back. First off, I requested a female masseur but a guy showed up. I decided to give it a try since I've never had a male masseur before and it turned out to be a disaster. He never got the right amount of pressure and whenever I ask him to put less/more pressure, I was either in pain or not feeling any of my muscles "massaged". It was the worst massage I've ever had. My boyfriend didn't like his massage at all either. I am sticking to my regular spa even though I have to drive so much more.
I loved eating delicious spa food at the cafe and the nature friendly setting is very pretty but you go to a spa to get a massage, not to eat.
- Pros: The cafe
- Cons: BAD MASSAGE
Good swedish massage, average pedicure
by blackbeltgoddess at Citysearch
I was expecting a little more from one of the top rated spas in the United States, but everything seemed about average with this visit to the spa. The changing facilities were nice, the robes & flip flops were nice. The blue waiting room seemed nice enough, very quiet. The massage was good & she asked if there were any special areas to be worked on. They had some complementary crackers & beverages in the kitchen when I got there but the crackers were gone by the time I finished my first treatment. I was dissapointed the Cafe closed so early as I was hungry after my massage & had time to waste before pedicure. The pedicure seemed average & no better then a walk in place. The pool was pretty but the weather was not great & it didn't seem worth the extra $25 I had to pay for the facilites usage.
- Pros: parking
- Cons: value did not seem in-line with price

In Short
Guests enjoy cozy robes and the tranquil blue waiting room before indulging in an assortment of spa services. Treatment rooms (including outdoor cabanas and screened porch) reflect the resort's commitment to nature in addition to the organic gardens used in many of the spa products. Services (from a menu of more than 100 options) include massages, scrubs and wraps, East Asian therapies, facials and waxing. The Iris Salon offers men's and women's hair cuts and color, make-up application and nail services.
beautiful, luxurious, love it

Take advantage of the accommodations such as the sauna, whirlpool, steam room, indoor lap pool, and outdoor swimming pool. All of these are yours to use for the entire day when you go to the Spa. The setting is gorgeous, the people are wonderful, there are pathways and trails down to the lake with flower gardens all around. It is obvious that this place spends a lot of time on the little details. This is a perfect place to go with a best friend or a lover on your day off. You can lay on the outside patio while getting a pumpkin wrap (or many of the other treatments) with your significant other (like I did ;) ). I HIGHLY recommend Lake Austin Spa Resort.
- Pros: wonderful service, caring staff, wonderful atmosphere
- Cons: a little bit of a drive down the lake
JUST OK
by ashboyd806 at Citysearch
THE SERVICES WERE OK BUT OVERLY PRICED. THE SETTING WAS PRETTY BUT NOT REALLY WORTH DRIVING SOOO FAR OUT OF THE WAY. FOR A SPA BEING RATED TOP TEN IN THE NATION, IT WAS OK, BUT I HAVE HAD MUCH BETTER IN AUSTIN. SEEMED A LITTLE SNOOTY
- Cons: JUST WAY TOO FAR OUT OF THE WAY
Best Spa in Austin

It is worth saving your money for a spa experience at Lake Austin Spa. I have been frequenting this spa since 2002. It was great then, but in the past year they have made amazing renovations that made Lake Austin Spa a 5 star experience. If you make an appointment during the week you don't have to pay for the extra locker room fee. Although, if you have the money, the locker room serivce is worth more than $25 per day.
During your massage they let you choose your own music instead of listening to what ever happens to be playing. You can also option for silence. The service, atmosphere and view is un-matched.
- Pros: First Class treatment, View of Lake Austin, Massage Therapy Services
- Cons: Expensive, but you get out of it what you pay
Good spa-Be prepared to spend $1000 plus
by dupree at Citysearch
Good services, caring staff. Hint-if you come as a couple plan to spen dupwards of a $1000 for the day.
Take advantage of the services and the location.
- Pros: Good variety of services
- Cons: $1000 for two for day services
First-class staff, services and a boundlessly beautiful location make this a popular day spa retreat.
