Only Mechanics I Trust

This is long overdue. I've had five services in a row on different vehicles I own. And I'm always amazed by the quality of the work. The friendliness of the service is like walking into a friends home. The price is always reasonable I don't not ever feel cheated because I've always recieved very accurate estimates. Never feel pushed into service I can't afford but always informed of areas that may need attention. Anyone who has had a bad experience with a mechanic needs to come to McSpadden period.

Trustworthy and polite group. Nice, clean office. Clear and concise explanation of services. I agree with the other review, it seems safer and more reliable to go with McSpaddens than a dealership.

This Place is GREAT

I was reffered to McSpadden's by a friend. I went in and told them all the items i needed. They shuttled me home. Called me with an estimate and did the repairs in the time they said they would at the price they quoted, who could ask for more BUT they did more. I went to get my car and they had washed it inside and out. This place is GREAT. Thanks Guys

Great service!

McSpadden's has become our mechanic shop and we are picky! They are convenient, professional, reasonable, and, timely. We have two older vehicles which are starting to have issues. When a repair did not work properly, not only did McSpadden's guarantee the work, they went above and beyond to take care of the problem and do something extra to make up for the inconvenience. They have also cleaned up the place. No longer is my car dusty after going to the shop, and because of the fencing, I know my car will be safe when it has to stay overnight. Thank you McSpadden's for sticking to your estimates, working with us, and making it right everytime!

The staff at the South Congress location are not only friendly, professional, but also a lot of fun to deal with. I had a lot of work done in a timely manner and am very pleased with the service and customer service I received.

BEE CAVE LOCATION - GREAT SERVICE!

McSpadden's purchased Bee Cave Automotive earlier this year. Reviews at Bee Cave Automotive weren't great, but reviews at McSpadden's on Congress were some of the best I'd seen. I contacted the Congress location and they promised me the same excellent service at the new Bee Caves location. The Bee Cave location is close to where I live, as are other automotive repair shops. I've had issues at the other companies, so tried McSpadden's. I had to have brakes and rotors replaced on my Suburban. The price was several hundred dollars less than when I had it done on a different Suburban at a near-by shop several years ago. My car was done on time, and my car was washed and detailed at no extra charge. I feel like McSpadden's is a place I can trust with my cars not only for repairs, but for general maintenance since I'd like to drive these cars for a long time!

Great Service, Great work- Bee Caves location

I recently took in two cars for water pumps, timing belts and seals. The work was done quickly and there werent any suprise costs (much like other shops). Raymond answered all of our questions with a smile and did quality work. The work was done for exactly what we were quoted and it was by far the best price we found anywhere else in town. I was very impressed with the service and will not go anywhere else for repairs.

Incompetence without Integrity

Incompetence without Integrity.

This is, by far, the worst experience I have ever had when dealing with an automotive service 'professional', a term I use quite loosely on this occasion. After taking our vehicle to have the front shocks replaced it was returned to us in what the shock manufacturer stated was a "very unsafe" condition that should not have been driven. The shocks were VERY OBVIOUSLY installed incorrectly as any idiot (unless, of course, the idiot was an employee of this jip joint) could tell since the truck was now jacked up a good 3 inches in the front only. After keeping the truck for an extra day it was returned to us in this very obviously wrong condition.

The first time we took the truck back is when I became aware of exactly what was going on here. We were told that they would be able to fix it for sure, but they would have to order different shocks and install those on the truck to do so. You see, they were installing shocks we brought in rather than the exact same set of shocks they offered to order for us at $100 more per shock. Anyone else see the very obvious money-grab going on here? Zero integrity for this dishonest move, but hey, they didn't quite know what they were up against.

So the truck goes back a third time, telling them it is VERY OBVIOUS something was done wrong and needs to be corrected. After much arguing, again blaming us and the shocks we brought in, they agreed to take the suspension apart and look at it again but they said they would need information on who we had contacted at the shock manufacturer etc. Well, after we returned home and did a bit more research we had to call them back to TELL THEM what THEY did wrong! Unbelievable! These clowns couldn't even figure out a simple front strut installation, and actually tried to tell me at one point the ride height of a vehicle was determined by the gas pressure in a shock! LOL! The suspension damper determining ride height, that's one I've never heard before!

They tried anything and everything to blame us and the parts we brought in for this before they would do anything about it. They made us do the research, figure out what the issue was, even after we had the manufacturer of the shock saying it was clearly installed wrong because the shocks would not significantly change ride height. They even CONTINUED to argue after this, which is nothing short of idiotic in my book... the manufacturer of the product is saying you are wrong and you still want to tell me that the shock/strut is going to determine ride height? Please, most children know better and even if they didn't they would at least stop after the manufacturer of the shock said differently.

All of this, having to bring the truck back multiple times, being lied to in my face, the shop failing at their money-grab technique, completely horrible customer service and a total lack of integrity and they had the nerve to laugh at me when I suggested at least a partial refund on the labor after I did the diagnostics myself. The best part was when they kept blaming the parts we brought, which were the exact same and CORRECT shocks for the truck that they offered to order for $100 more per shock... I mean, really, if you want to make your pathetic money-grab any more honest you might as well just come out and say it! Offering to "fix" the issue by installing the exact same unit at $100 more per corner is pretty damned obvious, guys.

What a bunch of dishonest, integrity-free, idiotic jokers. After reviewing their website and seeing that they are a "Christian" "family" business it starts to look like they were probably discriminating against us as well, though these things are tough to prove. Either way, great way to represent your "Christian" values, whatever those are!

If they can't even do a simple strut installation and stand behind their failures when they very obviously occur, why would anyone trust them?

This is for the Bee Cave location.

Great Service at the Bee Cave Location

I brought my Lexus to McSpaddens as it approached 100,000 miles and needed a timing belt. Since my car had never been to a repair shop, I took a chance with this place and I'm glad I did.

When I brought my car in, I asked them to change the timing belt and water pump and check for the source of an oil leak. Everthing was fixed on time and within budget and I feel like they went over my car pretty thoroughly to make sure there were no other problems.

I'm happy with the quality of service and I will use McSpaddens again.
